TOPIC: Tap Tempo Not Working

Tap Tempo Not Working 1 year, 5 months ago #111

Just received and installed version 3 of the software. Really looking forward to using it this coming weekend!

However, just noticed that the tap tempo feature appears a bit broken. I click the start button, then tap away to the beat of a song, and then hit stop. It then consistently calculates a tempo that is completely incorrect - normally way too fast, sometimes out of range (over 600 for example).

Is there some kind of trick to using this feature - or is it broken?

Thanks.

I've just been testing it with an actual metronome and I'm not sure what the trick is, other than tapping steadily for 2 or 3 bars. No matter how fast I tap I can't get it to go above 350bpm. What OS are you using?
Try using the left mouse button to tap the drum and see if that makes a difference. Meanwhile we will check the code as it has not been changed since Power Music was first released 3 years ago! I don't think many people use that feature.

I am on Windows XP service pack 3.

Oddly I can't get it to give a really high tempo figure now, that I was getting before, but it does appear to be twice what it should be. I have just opened the program, gone straight to edit a song, then hit record and tapped out 4 bars of the song I'm listening too.

For me this could be quite a useful feature - although I have other means of working out the tempo, such as tapping in the various bits of music software I use.
